Geerlofs has used novel techniques at Fraxinus, locate at the flower-auction Flora Holland, located at Aalsmeer, the Netherlands. The ‘green’ halogen-free refrigerant NH₃ (Amonia) and the environment friendly refrigerant CO₂ (Carbon Dioxide) is applied. A ‘self-support’ heat transport system completes the novelty.

The 5,500 m² of refrigerators, more than 4000 m² of processing-rooms and the offices are climate-controlled by this system.

The offices are heated by re-using the energy from the refrigerators, which is energetically a novel technique. The cold tap-water of 2 degree Celsius contributes to the quality of the flowers.

With a cooling capacity of 850 kW, the eyes from the world of refrigeration are focused on Fraxinus, since a comparable system has never been build in the sector of flowers. Partnership and trust leaded to this unique result, satisfying our customer.
