Singapore Airport has awarded Geerlofs Refrigeration the contract for the construction and installation of the new Perishables Handling Center “Coolport” at Changi Airport in Singapore.

This fully conditioned cold - and freezer storage facility of 50.000 m3 will be used for transshipment storage of a variety of fresh produce (vegetables, fruits, meat, fish and medicines) passing the Singaporean airport.

Singapore Airport has chosen for the expertise and quality of Geerlofs Refrigeration to be able to use “Coolport” to strengthen its position as leading logistical hub in South-East Asia.

Meanwhile Phase 1 has commenced and the building works are in full swing.

The schedule for commissioning of the Perishables Handling Center is in June during a grand opening ceremony.
